LOCOMOTIVES

Traditional Rail + Modern

CN has retrofitted some locomotives to run on a blend of LNG and diesel, as a step towards transitioning to cleaner fuels. 

Renewable Fuels:

CN has been partnering with companies like Renewable Energy Group (REG) and Chevron Renewable Energy Group (CREG) to test high-level blends of biodiesel and renewable diesel in locomotives. 

Battery-Electric Locomotives:

CN is developing and testing battery-electric locomotives as a zero-emission alternative to diesel-powered locomotives, with the first such locomotive expected to be operational in 2023. 

CN is actively pursuing a multi-faceted approach to reduce its carbon footprint and achieve its sustainability goals. This includes:

Developing and deploying alternative propulsion technologies, including battery-electric and renewable fuels.

PIGGERS LIKE MILITARY VERSUS C/M

C/M retrofit kits separate from Ground-Ups can do averages of 300-600 HP or 1200+ bringing Military & Piggas up a notch at Zero Emissions

Non-Hybrid Options:

The non-hybrid options include a 285-hp 3.3-liter V-6 and a 400-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6. 

Performance Features:

The vehicle is designed for pursuit driving, with police-calibrated engine and transmission tuning, and includes a reinforced chassis and heavy-duty cooling systems. 

Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (CVPI):

Historical Significance: The CVPI was the most widely used police car in North America from 1997 to 2013. 

Engine Options: The CVPI had a 239-horsepower 4.6-liter V-8 engine. 

Performance and Features: The CVPI was known for its robust build, capable of handling the rigors of police duty, and its strong, reliable performance. 

In summary, the Ford Police Interceptor vehicles (Utility and previously CVPI) are designed for law enforcement use, offering powerful engines, performance features, and features to enhance their suitability for pursuit and patrol duties.
